PURPOSE : A metallic alloy for hydrogen storage that is easily activated, increases hydrogen storage capacity, lowers hysteresis during hydrogen storage, is operated at an ordinary temperature and a low atmospheric pressure, obtains a good thermal conductive phase and increases hydrogen release capacity is provided.
CONSTITUTION : A metallic alloy for hydrogen storage is composed of a ReNix-y-zVyMz based metallic alloy for hydrogen storage, wherein Re is a rare earth metal, M is a mish metal, 1.35<=x<=1.65, 0.1<=y<=0.4, and 0.05<=z<=0.25, wherein the Re is a mixed element of Na, Ce, Pr and Nd, wherein the M is a mixed element of Co, Mn, Al and Fe or Zr, Mn, Al and Fe, wherein the metallic alloy for hydrogen storage comprises a trace of a mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen, wherein the metallic alloy for hydrogen storage is obtained by varying y and z after fixing x as 1.5, and wherein the metallic alloy for hydrogen storage is formed of a mixture comprising 6.0 to 10.0 wt.% of La, 15.0 to 19.0 wt.% of Ce, 1.2 to 1.8 wt.% of Pr, 4.1 to 4.9 wt.% of Nd, 43.4 to 52.6 wt.% of Ni, 11.0 to 15.0 wt.% of V, 3.0 to 5.0 wt.% of Zr(Co), 0.5 to 2.0 wt.% of Mn, 0.5 to 1.2 wt.% of Al, and 1.5 to 1.7 wt.% of Fe.
