COOLING LIQUID OF WATER-COOLED ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a coolant of a water-cooled engine which curbs the occurrence of contaminants in the air and increases gas mileage. SOLUTION : Monazite powder is mixed into a cooling liquid of the water-cooled engine. Monazite is a phosphate mineral whose principal ingredients are cerium which is a rare-earth element, lanthanum, and neodymium, and the chemical formula is (Ce, La, Nd) PO4. Since monazite contains thorium (the order of 4 to 10% as ThO2) as trace constituents, monazite generates radiation. The contaminants in the air such as NOx, CO, and HC in the exhaust gas are reduced by mixing the monazite powder into the cooling liquid of the water-cooled engine, and combustion efficiency is improved.
