PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a magnetic detection element having a self-stationary type of lamination ferry stationary layer, wherein the material of a non-magnetic film formed on an opposing side to a side where a non-magnetic material layer of the lamination ferry stationary layer is formed, and the material of a ferromagnetic layer constituting the lamination ferry stationary layer are suitably selected, thereby firmly fixing the magnetization of the lamination ferry stationary layer.
SOLUTION : The first magnetic layer 23a of a stationary magnetic layer 23 is formed on a non-magnetic metal layer 22. The non-magnetic metal layer 22 is composed of an X-Mn alloy (wherein X is the element of a kind or two kinds or more of any one of Pt, Pd, Ir, Rh, Ru, Os, Ni and Fe). The first magnetic layer 23a contains Co and Fe as a main body, and further a rare-earth element or a noble metal element is added thereto. A strain occurs in a crystal structure of the first magnetic layer 23a by this lamination structure, thereby enabling a magnetic strain constant λ to be increased, and the magnetic detection element having a large magnetic elastic effect can be provided.
