PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a composition which is a composite-type oxide ion mixed conductor composition and excellent in stability and oxygen permeability; and to provide a composite material obtained by using the composition and a chemical reaction apparatus. SOLUTION : The composite-type oxide ion mixed conductor composition includes an oxygen ion conduction phase comprising a rare earth element-added cerium oxide expressed by compositional formula : CeaA1-aOγ and a perovskite-type compound oxide expressed by compositional formula : SrbX1-bCocFedZeOδ, wherein the molar ratio of the rare earth element-added cerium oxide to the perovskite-type compound oxide is 0.1 to 20. The composite material is composed of the composition and a porous support body part. The chemical reaction apparatus utilizing the composition or the composite material is used.
