MERCURY FREE HID LAMP EQUIPPED WITH ASYMMETRY ELECTRODES

PURPOSE : A mercury-free HID(High Intensity Discharge) lamp with asymmetric electrodes is provided to improve quality of light by using a metal halide composition having an optimized composition ratio. CONSTITUTION : The mercury-free HID lamp is comprised of an electrode assembly(20) which is provided with a discharging unit(10) made of a quartz glass, a filling material made of rare gas capsulated in the discharging unit and a metal halide composition(H), a pair of asymmetric electrodes(21A, 21B) extended from ends of the discharging unit, a molybdenum film(23) coupled to the electrodes and wrapped with a capsulation unit(23A), and an lead line(25) connected to the molybdenum. A composition ratio of the metal halide composition is [10-20 wt.%(weight-percentage) of halide], [60-85 wt.% of lanthanide halide], and [5-20 wt.% of Na halide and Sc halide]. © KIPO 2006
