PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dielectric material large in a no-load quality coefficient Qu , small in the absolute value of the temperature coefficient τf of resonance frequency fo, especially exhibiting a dielectric constant εr of about 20, and not requiring a special sintering method on production. SOLUTION : This dielectric material is a solid solution having a K2 Ni4 (type crystal structure and represented by the formula : a(RE, AE)2 AlO4 .b(RE, AE)2 GaO.CaE2 (TiZr)O4 [RE is a rare earth element; AE is an alkaline earth element; 0<(a)<100, 0<(b)<40, 0<(c)<80, (a)+(b)+9c)=100 mol.%]. La, Pr, Nd or Sm can be employed as RE, and Ca, Sr, Ba can be employed as AE. The dielectric material is suitable for producing resonators or filters used in high frequency regions, especially for producing resonators for mobile communication base stations requiring high heat-releasing properties.
