PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To obtain a novel polymer and a novel copolymer each comprising 4-silyl-1-butene-3-yne structural units. SOLUTION : The 4-silyl-1-butene-3-yne polymer comprises structural units represented by formula (I) and structural units represented by formula (II). The copolymer comprises 4-silyl-1-butene-3-yne structural units and conjugated diene structural units. The method for producing the polymer or the copolymer comprises using a polymerization catalyst containing a rare earth metallocene complex.
