PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rollable cast slab of high quality in which evils caused by phosphorus can be effectively prevented. SOLUTION : In the cast slab having a white cast iron structure, the concentration of phosphorus atoms [P] is ≥0.015 mass%, and provided that molar concentration of the phosphorus atoms [Pmol] is ≥0.4×[Pmol], the molar concentration of rare earth elements [REMmol] is ≥0.4×[Pmol]. In the invention, evils caused by the phosphorus can be prevented by incorporating the rare earth elements.
