PURPOSE : An optical fiber and a hybrid optical fiber amplifier using the same are provided to obtain the optical amplifier having wide gain bandwidth by not overlapping the optical amplification bandwidths from each other while generating the amplification of the optical signal by the rear-earth element and the nonlinear Raman effect. CONSTITUTION : An optical fiber(1) includes a clad(10) and a core(20). The refractive index of the clad(10) is larger than that of the core(20). And, the core(20) consists of the first atoms doped to amplify the light to the first band by the rear-earth atoms with receiving the pumping light having a predetermined wavelength and the second atoms doped to amplify the atoms to the second band by the nonlinear Raman light amplification. © KIPO 2006
