The invention relates to an automatic plant watering device. The inventive device comprises a tubular body (1) having a flat body (2) with a much larger circumference solidly connected to one of the ends thereof, specifically the upper end. The aforementioned flat body defines a base which is applied to a plant pot or directly on the ground. According to the invention, the earth extends upwards from the base (2), while the tubular body (1) is disposed below the base and houses a body of absorbent material (5) which absorbs water and supplies the necessary moisture to the roots (15) of (i) a plant (14) which is planted in earth (13) in a plant pot (9) in which the device has been inserted or (ii) a plant that is planted directly in the ground.
