PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a highly active catalyst for reforming dimethyl ether capable of obtaining hydrogen useful for a raw material of a solid polymer type fuel cell from dimethyl ether. SOLUTION : The catalyst for reforming dimethyl ether comprises a solid type solid acid catalyst, one or more metals selected from the group consisting of alkali earth metals, metals having a fusing point higher than the fusing point of Cu and rare earth metals, and a solid type catalyst comprising Cu.
