PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a cutting method, restraining a saw mark in cutting a rare earth alloy using a saw wire. SOLUTION : This cutting method using the saw wire includes : a preparing process of winding the saw wire round a reel bobbin having a GD2 of 40, 000 kgf cm2 or less; a process of reciprocating the saw wire wound round the reel bobbin between two or more rollers at a period of under 120 sec while reversing the traveling direction; and a process of cutting a work piece formed of a rare earth alloy with the traveling saw wire.
