PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an optical fiber laser system which can output the high output of pulse laser beam by preventing the energy loss of exciting light. SOLUTION : In an optical fiber laser system 10, a Q switch 15 is disposed in a resonator having a rare earth doped optical fiber 11 formed as a laser medium. An optical switching means for preventing light spontaneously emitted when the Q switch is turned OFF from again entering the optical fiber is provided on one side of the optical fiber. The turning ON/OFF of the optical switching means is synchronized with the turning ON/OFF of the Q switch provided on the other end side of the optical fiber.
