PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a solid magnetic encoder highly wear resistible and manufacturable at a low cost while improving magnetism. SOLUTION : This magnetic encoder 10 is constructed of a mutlipole magnets 14 having magnetic poles alternately formed in the circumference direction. The multipole magnet 14 is formed of a sintered material prepared by sintering mixture powder of magnetic powder and non-magnetic metal powder. The mixture powder includes two or more kinds of magnetic powder. For example, the mixture powder includes inexpensive ferrite powder and rare-earth magnetic powder producing strong magnetism.
