PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To improve the contrast or sharpness of a radiological image conversion panel by preventing back scattering of an X-ray which is harmful to imaging.
SOLUTION : This radiological image conversion panel is formed by sealing a stimulable phosphor layer 12 provided on a substrate 11 by a sealing material 20, and is used for irradiating the stimulable phosphor layer 12 with the X-ray from the substrate 11 side. A rare gas is sealed on the stimulable phosphor layer 12 side of the substrate 11. Since feeble light having the similar wavelength to excitation light of the stimulable phosphor is emitted by being excited by the X-ray irradiated from the substrate 11 side and transmitted through the stimulable phosphor layer 12 or by a weak X-ray transmitted through the radiological image conversion panel, scattered by a backward object, and again entering the radiological image conversion panel, a noise near the surface of the stimulable phosphor layer can be erased, to thereby improve contrast or sharpness of a reproduced image.
