PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an identification mark for which the discrimination method is more difficult to be made clear than for conventional identification mark and of which the forgery is more difficult than the conventional one. SOLUTION : The identification mark has a fluorescent light emitting layer containing an optically active rare earth complex, wherein the optically active rare earth complex contains a specific phosphine oxide ligand. The fluorescence of a specific wavelength region from the fluorescent light emitting layer of the identification mark has a circular polarization characteristic and authentication decision can be performed by measuring the difference in the intensity between the right-handed and left-handed circularly polarized light beams or a g value.
