A method of manufacturing a laminated permanent magnet

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a high performance permanent magnet of an arbitrary thickness and a desired form, requiring no cutting work after molding, without the use of a method of crushing or making into bonded magnet. SOLUTION : After a quenched alloy thin band, comprising amorphous texture of average thickness 10 μm-100 μm which has high toughness and is easily worked, is manufactured from molten alloy of a specific composition containing rare-earth element by 6 at.% or less and boron by 15-30 at.% under a specific molten metal quenching condition, the quenched alloy thin band is cut and punched into a desired form. Then, by performing a crystallization heat treatment with which average crystal grain diameter becomes 10-50 nm, a thin permanent magnet of an average thickness 10-100 μm having hard magnetic properties of iHc>=2 kOe, Br>=8 kG is manufactured, and the thin permanent magnets are laminated in two or more sheets, and the laminated thin bands are bonded together in a body with an inorganic bonding agent or resin.
