Magnetoresistive angle sensor for use at temperatures over 160 degrees C comprises a fixed magnetic field sensor (2, 3) surrounded by an electromagnetic rotor (8) and a screen ring (9) rotating with the rotor. The magnetic field sensor determines the angle position of the rotor. The rotor is designed as a ring made of plastic containing a rare earth magnetic material chosen from neodymium, iron or boron.
