PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To realize high capacity and lightweight in a sealed storage battery using a metal oxide and a hydrogen storage alloy for use as a mobile power supply or the like. SOLUTION : This is a sealed metal oxide-hydrogen storage battery and comprises a positive electrode having a metal oxide, a negative electrode having a hydrogen storage alloy, a separator, an alkaline electrolyte, a lid with a safety valve, and a battery case. The positive electrode contains an oxide of a rare earth metal and 0.05-3.0 wt.% of Co to the metal oxide is dissolved as a solid solution in the crystals of the metal oxide. COPYRIGHT : (C)2003, JPO
