PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To overcome a fact that an application method is limited to a packed column method because a shape is granular even though one manufactured by solidifying rare earth-containing hydroxide or one carrying an active charcoal are known as anions such as antimony or iodine in a liquid, and there is no anion absorbent having sufficient absorption volume and large absorption rate even though milling included cerium oxide into a polymer fiber is proposed.
SOLUTION : By carrying rare earth-containing hydroxide onto a fiber by introducing a cation exchange group to a graft side chain of an organic polymer fiber substrate, absorbing a rare earth ion and then making in contact with an alkali solution, a large amount of rare earth-containing hydroxide can be carried on a fiber peripheral part and an anion absorbent having large absorption volume and absorption rate can be manufactured. By using advantage of molding processability of the fiber, application methods in a circulation method or an impregnation method can be used.
