Provided is a coated silicate fluorescent body which can be prevented from deteriorating due to long-term excitation of UV-LED. The coated silicate fluorescent body is obtained by coating the surface of a powder comprising a silicate fluorescent body having a composition represented by formula 1, with a powder comprising magnesium hydroxide. MaMgbSi2Oc : Eux, Lny (formula 1) (wherein, M represents at least one metal element selected from the group consisting of Sr, Ca, and Ba, Ln represents a rare-earth metal element other than Eu, and 2.5 ≤ a ≤ 3.3, 0.9 ≤ b ≤ 1.1, 7.4 ≤ c ≤ 8.4, x > 0, and 0 ≤ y ≤ 0.1 are satisfied).
