PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a metal scavenger containing a lignin derivative as the main component, where the metal scavenger can scavenge Ti, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pd, Ag, Au, and useful metals classified as rare earth, present in a solution, and a metal recovery method using the same. SOLUTION : A metal scavenger is used for Ti, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pd, Ag, Au, and metals classified as rare earth, the scavenger containing a lignin derivative.
