PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To carry out joining of aluminum nitride sintered bodies with each other favorably and stably at a relatively low temperature without generating a troublesome gas.SOLUTION : A first joining material composition of the present invention is a joining material composition used when joining aluminum nitride sintered bodies containing rare earth metal oxide with each other, and contains in addition to an aluminum nitride raw material containing an oxygen element, (a) as a fluorine compound, at least one of fluorine compounds of alkaline earth metals and fluorine compounds of rare earth metals, or (b) as a fluorine compound, at least one of fluorine compounds of alkaline earth metals and fluorine compounds of rare earth metals, and further a rare earth metal oxide.SELECTED DRAWING : None
