PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dielectric composition that has satisfactory high-temperature load life in a high temperature atmosphere at 250°C suitable for the uses of vehicle mounting and power devices including SiC or GaN semiconductors, and an electronic component prepared therewith. SOLUTION : A dielectric composition has a main component represented by chemical formula a{K(Ba1-xSrx)2 Nb5O15}+b{(Ba1-yRe2y/3) Nb2O6}, where the Re is at least one selected from the group consisting of La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Y, Gd, Yb, and Dy, the x and y satisfy 0.35≤x≤0.75 and 0.20≤y≤0.85, and the relationship between the a and b satisfies a+b=1.00 and 0.25≤a≤0.75.
