PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a peptide, a rare earth element recovery material, and a rare earth element recovery method that can efficiently recover a specific rare earth element. SOLUTION : The present invention provides a peptide having a specific amino acid sequence, or an amino acid sequence with one or several amino acid(s) deleted, substituted or added in the specific amino acid sequence, a rare earth element recovery material that contains the peptide and is for use in recovery of a rare earth element, and a rare earth element recovery method that includes the step of bringing the rare earth element recovery material into contact with liquid containing a rare earth element.
