The present invention relates to a method of electrolytic reduction of a rare earth metal through a method of setting an electrolytic reduction condition when a metal is electrolytically reduced from a raw material containing a metal component using an electrolytic bath containing a cathode, an anode, and a supporting electrolyte. The present invention provides a method of predetermining a contact area and an amount of electrolytic support salt to obtain a target current density, and a method of predetermining an additional feed rate of the raw material.
