The present invention relates to a method for preparing a rare earth permanent magnet. The method for preparing a rare earth permanent magnet comprises a step of preparing a magnet raw material alloy; a step of crushing the alloy; a step of pulverizing the crushed alloy powder; and a step of sintering the finely pulverized alloy powder. The pulverization is carried out by a hydrogen decrepitation process including a hydroprocessing process and a dehydrogenating process. The dehydrogenating process is carried out at a temperature of 180° C or more and 400° C or less for 0.5 hours or more and for 3 hours or less.
