In a manufacturing method of a rare earth sintered magnet, a magnetized rare earth sintered object is formed in a first direction by using light rare earth magnet powder. By processing the rare earth sintered object, formed is a rare earth bulk having the sum of a second surface area vertical to the first direction larger than the sum of a first surface area parallel with the first direction. After the rare earth bulk is dipped in a source solution in which a heavy rare earth material is dissolved to form a coating layer on a surface of the rare earth bulk, a heat treatment process is performed with respect to the rare earth bulk on which the coating layer is formed so as to diffuse the heavy rare earth material into the rare earth bulk.
