PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a ceramic electronic component in which, even when the dielectric substance layer is made thinner, the capacity-temperature characteristic satisfies X8R characteristic, and in which the reliability under a high voltage environment is satisfactory, and to provide a dielectric ceramic composition that forms said dielectric substance layer.
SOLUTION : Provided is a dielectric ceramic composition containing a primary constituent having a perovskite crystal structure represented by a general formula of ABO3, a first sub-constituent of an oxide of rare-earth element, and a second sub-constituent of an oxide of Si, and at least containing a dielectric particle 2a having a core-shell structure, and a segregation particle 2b, and in which the concentration of the rare-earth element in the segregation particle 2b is 2-folds or more of the average concentration of the rare-earth element in the shell part of the dielectric particle 2a having a core-shell structure, and in respect of a cross-section obtained by cutting the dielectric ceramic composition, the area of a region occupied by segregation particle 2b is 5.0% or less, and the average of the cross-section area of each segregation particle 2b is 0.075 μm2 or less.
