PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an R-T-B-based rare earth sintered magnet having high coercivity (Hcj). SOLUTION : The R-T-B-based rare earth sintered magnet consists of R, which is a rare earth element, T, which is transition metal mainly containing Fe and metal element M containing one or more metal selected from Al, Ga and Cu, B and inevitable impurities with R of 13 to 15.5 atom%, B of 5.0 to 6.0 atom%, M of 0.1 to 2.4 atom%, where the balance is T and inevitable impurities and Zr is contained at 0.015 to 0.10 atom% as T is the transition metal.
