PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a technique capable of improving the quality of the rare earth element to be recovered as an operation process is simplified. SOLUTION : An elution step where, from resources, iron, boron and Nd and Dy are eluted into a water phase solution as an acid solution; an iron removal step where goethite and iron (III) oxide are separated from the water phase solution; a reverse extraction step where the Dy in the organic phase solution is selectively extracted into a solution for Dy extraction; a Dy metal salt generation step where the solution for Dy extraction is concentrated to generate a Dy metal salt; and a Dy electrolytic deposition step where the Dy is electrically deposited from the Dy metal salt are performed in order. On the other hand, a boron separation step where the boron in the water phase solution after the reverse extraction step is selectively removed; an Nd metal salt generation step where the water phase solution is concentrated to generate an Nd metal salt; and an Nd electrolytic deposition step where the Nd is electrically deposited from the Nd metal salt are performed in order.
