PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth metal complex having high emission quantum efficiency (high wavelength conversion efficiency) and a method for producing the same.
SOLUTION : There is provided a mononuclear rare earth metal complex having an odd coordination number and represented by a general formula (I) [Ln represents a rare earth atom, n1 represents 2 or 3. n2 represents 1, 3, or 5. n3 represents 1, 2, or 3. X and Y may be the same or different and represents : an aromatic group; a perhalogenated aromatic group; an aromatic group which has at least one substituent; a heteroaromatic group which may have at least one substituent; an alkyl group, perhalogenated alkyl group, alkenyl group and perhalogenated alkenyl group which have 3-20 carbon atoms and straight or branched chian; or a cycloalkyl group, perhalogenated cycloalkyl group, cycloalkenyl group, perhalogenated cycloalkenyl group, or an alkynyl group which have 3-20 carbon atoms. Z represents a hydrogen atom or a deuterium atom.]
