PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To maintain life property of an anode containing an Mm-containing CaCu5 type hydrogen storage alloy as an active material and furthermore to suppress the raw material cost of the Mm-containing CaCu5 type hydrogen storage alloy.
SOLUTION : The hydrogen storage alloy related to the present invention is an AB5 type hydrogen storage alloy having a basal phase of a CaCu5 type crystal structure. The basal phase is represented by MmNiaMnbAlcCod (in the formula, Mm is a misch metal and 4.90≤a+b+c+d≤5.40, 3.45≤a≤4.40 and 0.15≤d≤0.80). La and Ce occupy percentage in the range of 90 mass% to 100 mass% to the Mm total mass in Mn at an A site. In the hydrogen storage alloy, crystallite size obtained by an X-ray diffraction measurement by a Lorentzian method is in the range of over 466Å and 1954Å or less and strain obtained by the Lorentzian method is 0.18% or less.
