PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a single crystal that emits a larger amount of light as compared with conventional ones and has a dimension practically required for use in radiation detection. SOLUTION : Provided is a single crystal which is represented by the following general formula (1), and in which the transmittance in a thickness direction with respect to light having a wave length of 400 nm is 50% or more when the thickness is 10 mm.
