PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a thin film solar cell capable of exhibiting high photoelectric conversion efficiency, a semiconductor thin film used for the thin film solar cell, and a coating liquid for forming a semiconductor capable of easily forming the thin film solar cell with a large area and also improving the performance stability. SOLUTION : Disclosed is a thin film solar cell 1 having a photoelectric conversion layer 5. The photoelectric conversion layer 5 has a site containing sulfide and/or selenide of a group 15 element of the periodic table and a compound containing one or more elements selected from the group consisting of rare earth elements, titanium, and zinc.
