The invention relates to a device for separating rare-earth element ions (50) of different types in liquid solution, at least one cell (24) being provided, which has at least two different liquid phases (26, 28), characterised in that at least two flow channels (30, 32) are provided, in each of which one of the two liquid phases (26, 28) is located, a first liquid phase (26) in a first flow channel (30) comprising a mixture of rare-earth element ions and a second liquid phase (28) in a second flow channel (32) comprising a free rare-earth element to be extracted which has lower chemical potential than in the first flow channel, and in that a cation-permeable membrane (34) is arranged between the two flow channels (30, 32).
