PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide : an electrode active material and an electrode material high in electronic conductivity and excellent in diffusibility of Li inside particles; an electrode containing the electrode material; a lithium ion battery having high discharge capacity at high-speed charge/discharge rate and sufficient charge/discharge rate performance by including a positive electrode comprising the electrode; and a method for producing an electrode material that is high in electronic conductivity and excellent in diffusibility of Li inside particles. SOLUTION : An electrode active material of the present invention is an electrode active material containing sulfur or a compound thereof in a particle represented by LixAyDzPO4 (where A represents one or two or more selected from the group consisting of Co, Mn, Ni, Fe, Cu and Cr, D represents one or two or more selected from the group consisting of Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Ti, Zn, B, Al, Ga, In, Si, Ge, Sc, Y and a rare earth element, and 0
