A bundle structure (5) is obtained by closely positioning optical fiber core wires (7a) having identical diameters around the outer circumference of a center optical fiber core wire (7b). The optical fiber core wires (7a) are signal beam optical fibers. The optical fiber core wire (7b) is an excitation beam optical fiber. The number of optical fiber core wires (7a) is identical to the number of cores (11) in the multi-core fiber (3). The bundle structure (5) and the multi-core fiber (3) are connected to one another by adhering or fusing. The cores (15a) and the cores (11) are optically connected, and the core (15b) and the cladding (13) are optically connected. When connecting, the mode field diameter of the cores (15a) and the cores (11) are substantially identical. In addition, the outer diameter (diameter of circumscribed circle including optical fiber core wires (7a)) of the bundle structure (5) is set so as not to be greater than the outer diameter of the multi-core fiber (3).
