PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a molten-metal contact material and a coating film, both excellent in corrosion resistance against a molted metal such as an aluminum alloy.SOLUTION : The molten-metal contact material is used for an object contacting to a molten metal and contains a rare earth titanate (e.g., yttrium titanate) represented by RETiO(provided that RE represents a rare-earth element). The coating film is formed by coating on a part contacting to the molten metal and contains the rare earth titanate (e.g., yttrium titanate) represented by RETiO.
