PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide : a solid oxide fuel battery cell arranged not to suffer the worsening of its power generation performance even after operation for a long time; a method for manufacturing such a solid oxide fuel battery cell; a fuel battery cell stack; and a solid oxide fuel battery. SOLUTION : The solid oxide fuel battery cell comprises : a solid electrolytic layer; an air electrode layer formed on one face of the solid electrolytic layer, and including at least Sr; a fuel electrode layer formed on the other face of the solid electrolytic layer; and an intermediate layer formed between the solid electrolytic layer and the air electrode layer. In the solid oxide fuel battery cell, the intermediate layer has an element diffusion prevention layer at least a part thereof; and the element diffusion prevention layer contains a complex oxide including at least one rare earth element and Zr. In the case of performing a heat treatment on the solid oxide fuel battery cell at 1, 000°C for 100 hrs in the atmosphere, the element diffusion prevention layer has a thickness of 600-2, 000 nm, and a Sr coverage of 90% or less.
