PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a new surface treatment method of an R-T-B system sintered magnet and a manufacturing method for restraining generation of rust. SOLUTION : In a surface treatment method of an R-T-B system sintered magnet for surface-treating by abutting on a surface of the R-T-B system sintered magnet (R surely includes Nd being at least one kind among a rare earth element, T surely includes Fe being at least one kind among a transition metal element and B is boron) for discharging and carrying slurry including an abrasive grain and liquid by pressure of air, the surface treatment method of the R-T-B system sintered magnet in which a grain diameter D50 of the abrasive grain is 60 μm-130 μm, and a volume percentage of the abrasive grain in the slurry is 5vol%-15vol%, and the pressure of the air is 0.1 MPa-0.4 MPa, and a feed speed of the R-T-B system sintered magnet is 30 mm/sec-90 mm/sec, and the slurry discharging direction is the inclining direction to an orthogonal surface to the carrying direction.
