The present invention relates to a use of a solvent of the formula (A) as described below as a solvent in a composition comprising a pesticide; and to a composition comprising a pesticide and a solvent of the formula (A) as described herein below. The invention furthermore relates to a process for the preparation of the composition by bringing the pesticide and the solvent into contact; a use of the solvent of the formula (A) as a solvent for pesticides; methods for control- ling phytopathogenic fungi and/or undesired vegetation and/or undesired insect or mite attack and/or for regulating the growth of plants, wherein the composition is allowed to act on the re- spective pests, their environment or on the plants to be protected from the respective pest, on the soil and/or on undesired plants and/or on the crop plants and/or on their environment; and to seed comprising the composition.
