PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an austenitic stainless steel suitable for a system for accumulating heat using molten nitrate to use the heat at 400 to 600°C as energy, and a heat collection tube and a heat accumulation system using molten nitrate as a heat accumulation medium.
SOLUTION : An austenitic stainless steel includes, by mass%, ≤0.1% C, ≥0.3% and ≤2.0% Si, ≤4.0% Mn, ≤0.10% P, ≤0.01% S, ≥7% and ≤15% Ni, ≤10% and ≤25% Cr, ≤2.5% Mo, ≤3.0% Cu, ≤0.5% V, and ≤0.3% N, while satisfying a relation : 0.5≤Si+0.5(Mo+Cu)≤2.0%, and if required, further includes one or more of ≤1.0% Nb, ≤1.0% Ti, ≤4.0% W, ≤4.0% Co, ≤4.0% Al, ≤0.5% in total of rare earth elements, and ≤0.1% of B, with the balance of Fe and inevitable impurities.
