PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a phosphor composition which does not contain rare-earth elements and heavy metals, hardly deteriorates fluorescence quantum yield due to UV rays, can improve the fluorescence quantum yield and, further, conveniently exhibits desired chromaticity.
SOLUTION : The phosphor composition comprises an organic phosphor and a B-C-N-O phosphor. In the phosphor composition, UV rays are absorbed by the B-C-N-O phosphor and, therefore, the deterioration in the fluorescence quantum yield of the organic phosphor can be suppressed. The phosphor composition exhibits a fluorescence quantum yield higher than the single fluorescence quantum yield of each of the organic phosphor and B-C-N-O phosphor which are used. Further, by adjusting kinds and amounts of the organic phosphor and B-C-N-O phosphor, the desired chromaticity can be provided conveniently.
