PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a manufacturing method of an unsaturated alcohol by a dehydration reaction of an alcohol, which suppresses formation of by-products and permits efficient manufacture of the unsaturated alcohol. ŽSOLUTION : In the manufacturing method of an unsaturated alcohol from a raw material alcohol by a dehydration reaction in the presence of a catalyst, the catalyst comprises zirconium oxide and a rare earth metal oxide and the content of the rare earth metal oxide is at least 0.01 wt.% and less than 10 wt.% based on the total weight of the catalyst.
