(57) Abstract : A method for manufacturing a sugar solution by repeating a sugar solution manufacturing process comprising steps (1) - (3) below, said manufacturing process being characterised by the use of a recovered saccharifying enzyme obtained during step (3) in step (1) of subsequent sugar solution manufacturing processes. Step (1) : cellulose undergoes primary hydrolysis by adding a cellulase from a filamentous fungus thereto. Step (2) : unused cellulase from the filamentous fungus is added to the hy- drolysis product from step (1) and a secondary hydrolysis is carried out. Step (3) : the hydrolysis product from step (2) undergoes solid-liquid separation, and a recovered enzyme is obtained from the acquired sugar solution. Thus provided is a method for re- ducing the amount of an enzyme such as cellulase used in a method for manufacturing a sugar solution from a pretreated cellulose material.
