PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for manufacturing an oxychlorination catalyst which has high activity and selectivity and the activity and selectivity of which are hardly deteriorated even when the oxychlorination catalyst is used for a long period of time. SOLUTION : The method for manufacturing the oxychlorination catalyst comprises the steps of : mixing an aqueous alkali metal aluminate solution and an aqueous cupric salt solution in an aqueous aluminum salt solution to obtain mixed slurry; washing the obtained mixed slurry to prepare the slurry of pH4-9.5 to be spray-dried; spray-drying the prepared slurry; washing the obtained spray-dried particles; drying the washed particles; and firing the dried particles. Further, an aqueous alkaline-earth metal salt solution, an aqueous rare earth metal salt solution or an aqueous alkali metal salt solution can be mixed in the aqueous aluminum salt solution, mixed in the aqueous aluminum salt solution together with the aqueous cupric salt solution or mixed in the aqueous cupric salt solution-mixed aqueous aluminum salt solution, altogether.
