Safety device comprises a unit for burning fuels and fuel additives, in which the combustion products contain iodine, iron, carbon, soot, aerosol-like iron oxides, gaseous iodine compounds and absorbed iodine compounds. Independent claims are also included for : fuels and fuel additives containing iron and titanium in enriched form, iron and/or titanium with additives such as manganese, zinc, copper, molybdenum, cobalt, vanadium, silicon, zirconium, yttrium, scandium, rare earths, iron and/or titanium in a molecular bond, iron and/or titanium in a metallic bond, and iodine and/or selenium; and a process for the production of aerosol-like combustion products comprising forming aerosols by combusting the fuel and distributing the combustion exhaust gases containing the aerosol particles directly into the atmosphere after combustion.
