[Problem] To provide a capacitor with superior life characteristics in high temperature load tests. [Solution] A dielectric ceramic has barium titanate crystal particles and strontium zirconate crystal particles that contain hafnium and also contains at least one first rare earth element out of vanadium, manganese, yttrium, holmium, erbium, and ytterbium and at least one second rare earth element selected from terbium, dysprosium, and gadolinium. In the x-ray diffraction chart for the dielectric ceramic, the diffraction intensities for the plane indices (121, 002) for the strontium zirconate are 0.7% or greater of the diffraction intensity for the plane index (110) for the barium titanate.
