PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method with which a rare earth phosphor having improved luminous efficiency can be produced by a simpler technique than conventional techniques. ŽSOLUTION : The method for producing the phosphor comprises mixing a phosphor matrix precursor with an activating precursor in a synthetic solvent. The method is carried out as follows.
